The hopes of Nepal to be selected in the ACC trophy has been once again aborted after it submitted a loss of 6 wickets to the 4 time defending champion UAE in the semi finals of the ACC elite cup cricket in Malasiya. Had the team been able to reach in the finals only, it would be an first ever opportunity for the team to get a remarkable exposure to the cricket kings in south Asia including India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Bangladesh had used the same platform prior to its listing as a test playing country.

Nepal has in fact never been able to establish victory over UAE in any OD matches.Despite a rocking start in the league match being the group leader, Nepal was once more unable to make it to the finals.The performance of the young Nepali team was worthsome in the lague both in terms of batting and bowling.But the team failed to continue with the same spirit with the UAE.As a whole, the team performance could not be seen in the semifinals and Nepal has once again missed a great opportunity in its One Day Internationals that could have been a very crucial in terms of a number of aspects for the Nepalese cricket in the present and future.

Nepal after losing to Afganistan in the semifinals of the division-5 in league cricket match has lost its final hope to be qualified in the worldcup cricket-2011 that is to be happened in West Indies. The two finalists were to be selected forthe divison-4 game in the process of selection for the worldcup. Despite a well managed bowling and fielding, Nepali teams' poor batting performance was the key point in losing the opportunity to reach to the finals.

Nepal registered its 15 runs consolation win over the academy team of Pakistan to end the 3 match series 2-1.On the base of batting perfomance of Shakti Gauchan and bowling of spinner Sanjam Regmi, Nepal was able to make a win in the last match.The Pakistan academy-11 team had already clinched the series by consequetive win in the first two matches. Shakti Gauchan scored unbeaten 50 runs while Sanjam, who was awarded the man of the match bagged 5 wickets with 4 meaiden in his 6 overs spell.
Nepal had played the match as an exposure before it is scheduled to play the round-5 match for the selection in the upcoming world cup cricket.

Nepalese U-19 team has reached the semifinals of the U-19 elite cup cricket tournament..although it shared a point with thailand on the rain affacted match..Earlier, Nepal had defeated UAE in its second match by 6 wickets..the 3 time defending champion has yet to play a match against oman on sat.

Roger Federer, again seemed to be unlucky to make his grandslam when he was defeated by the Clay court lion Rafael Nadal in the French Open this time making it his third successive.The Espanish hero beat the grass court king by 6-3,4-6,6-3,6-4 in the finale and defended his title .While in the Women's category,the Belgian Queen Justine Henin made her three in a row in French Open defeating serbian Ana Ivanovic in straight set 6-1,6-2.While mine favourite Russian heroine Maria sharapova could't make her way to the final when she was defeated in the semifinals by Ana Ivanovic 6-2, 6-1.

Rafael Nadal after winning the tite,immediately apologised to Roger Federer for once again destroying the world number one's Grand Slam dream. I feel sorry for beating Roger here again," said Nadal.

"He is such a good person and a great champion. I'm happy to win here again but I need to keep working to get even better."

The 21-year-old also praised the Roland Garros crowd, the majority of whom were willing his opponent to a first French Open victory.

"Mallorca is my home but I love Paris," said the Spaniard.

Federer was left to regret squandering 10 break points in the crucial first set which he lost and a huge 60 unforced errors in the match.

He admitted it had been another tough afternoon.

"It's a shame, but I think I came closer to winning last year. This year I was always behind and it was never easy," said Federer.

"It's not the last time I will play here and I will try all I can to win next year.

"To win here three times in a row is an incredible achievement so all congratulations must go to Rafa.

"I'm sad and disappointed. I missed my big chances but a lot of that was down to my opponent."

Nadal and Federer also won praise from former triple champion Gustavo Kuerten who presented the trophies.

"It was a great match on clay with two great players," said Kuerten whose career has been derailed by a hip injury in recent seasons.

"Next year I hope to get out of my suit and into my shorts and play at Roland Garros myself once again."

Region no.2 Kathmandu has bagged the U-19 National Cricket Tournament title this year defeating the last time defending champion region no.4 Bhairawaha by 16 runs in the final.The rain affacted match was dropped down to 26 overs and Kathmandu finally made it.The 2 crucial run outs of Bhairawaha on the threshold turned out to be the turning point of the match..Kathmandu's Sarad veshwakar was awarded the man of the match of the final game as well as the man of the series and thus bagged Rs.20,000.cash while Antim thapa of Bhairawaha bagged Rs.10,000 with the title best batsman of the tournament...Simaultaneously, the senior 2 day league match is also being held among the regions.These activities and busyness of the players will definately contribute to the development of cricket in Nepal.On the other hand the regional players getting opportunity to get involved with the national and experienced players will help the juniors to build up their confidence..
